WHAT TO EXPECT ON MOVING DAY?

Get ready for moving day with essential tips. Prepare your home, communicate with movers, and ensure a smooth process. Trust us for a hassle-free move!

  • Before The Crew Arrives

Walk through your home and ensure that the driveways, stairs and hallways are completely clear (if possible). Move any children or pets into a safe contained area where they can remain comfortable. Pull aside any important or personal items that you wish to keep with or on you during the move rather than in the truck, such as: keys, cell phone, wallet/purse, boxes, bags, etc. If you are in an apartment building, confirm elevator reservation, access and parking availability to ensure a smooth start to the job.

  • Arrival And Walk-Through

When the crew arrives, a short and quick introduction will be had to create a client–contractor relationship. We will then follow up with a walk-through where the entire move will be established. This is possibly the most important part of the day as the more we clarify what goes and what doesn't, the faster and easier the move goes! Point out any fragile or high value items that the crew should be made aware of. Good communication from the start ensures a great move!

  • Loading

This is the longest part of the day and the details matter more than people realize. If necessary, floor runners, carpet shield or door covers will be used to prevent any damages to your home, something a great company puts first. Following the house/apartment prep, the crew will be moving from room to room, strategically removing boxes or furniture to load the truck. Necessary pieces of furniture will be wrapped and padded with moving blankets or shrink wrap to ensure the furniture isn't exposed to any damage throughout transit.

  • Mid-Move Check-In

This is a quick refresher, usually brought a few times throughout the loading phase in case any last minute updates, changes or decisions have been made. Whether it's a change of plans or a solution made to a question asked early on about a piece of furniture. These are important to ensure there are no mixups that'll add unnecessary time to the end of the job. No harm in extra communication!

  • Travel Time

After the load has been completed, the crew will head to the new residence to begin unloading. During this time it's important to grab any essentials for the trip over or to gather any important information pertaining to the correct address, parking or general instructions on where to unload. This is also a good time to get a quick bite or to stop for a drink refill as moving days are long and it's often forgotten to eat!

  • Unloading And Furniture Placement

This is where details matter. The more labeling there is, the less questions are asked, the faster and smoother the job is completed! Upon arrival, a quick walk-through will be done before unloading to ensure an understanding of where to put boxes and furniture. No one likes re-organizing a second time, especially when you paid to have it done the first time!

  • Final Walk-Through

Do not skip this part! Walk throughout the house/apartement and ensure every box is where you want it and furniture is placed how asked, if it isn't, we will gladly move it where it needs to go. This is a great time to ask the crew any questions or express any concerns about placement, we don't mind helping you sleep better at night!
